Building Information Modeling
The definition of BIM encompasses a wide range of processes and disciplines. In its broadest sense, it includes collaborative design, systems review for clash detection and resolution, material and assembly specification and costs, informing the project's construction process, integration and scheduling across all trades, as well as on going facility management for the life of the building or large scale project.
At ClearPlan, we focus on the ability of a model to shed light on the construction process and show the custom home project's team those areas in the plans where potential problems lie hidden. We have found that in the process of creating a model of a project's structure, drainage and MEPS systems, the "guesswork" of constructing the home is eliminated resulting in a quicker and smoother running project while significantly reducing the costs associated with remediating assemblies that conflict with one another.
This is the future of custom home construction.
